What's the deal with composite doors?

Composite doors are becoming hugely popular. Made from multiple materials including PVC, wood, insulating foam and GRP (glass reinforced plastic) composite doors have been designed to ensure greater strength, durability and aesthetic appeal.

Resembling the appearance of a wooden door with woodgrain effect, they have a higher thermal resistance than wooden doors and the GRP skin also has a high resistance against denting. You can achieve the sophisticated appearance of solid timber without the worry of warping or twisting (over time) and maintenance to ensure upkeep. Not only are composite doors low maintenance, robust and weather resistant – they won’t fade, rot, crack, nor will they ever need painting, and they also boast a longer life span.

All in all composite doors are a superb choice with an almost endless choice of colours and design options. At Windowmate we have a fabulous choice of colour options and some exciting glass designs featuring a blend of fused tiles, sandblasting and glass bevels complemented with resin lead and coloured film. There is also a wide array of door furniture available including handles, letterboxes and door knockers in a variety of different colour options and style choices.

If security is top of your list, then composite doors are unrivalled. In fact, a recent survey identified security as the top priority for 85% of homeowners when buying a new door. Fitted with high security cylinders and hook locks as standard, a composite door could give you the peace of mind you are looking for.
